KCR's Master plan to evade GHMC elections!Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao’s biggest referendum is on its way in November in the form of GHMC elections. GHMC area has highest presence of settlers and also a key hold of TDP and BJP.

KCR has taken this election prestigious and is encouraging defections from TDP to strengthen the party in the area. While all the efforts went as planned, KCR is still not able to gauge the mood of the public and hence wants to have more time before facing the elections.

To delay the election, the Chief Minister is bringing up the issue of delimitation of wards which will take more time to complete. Currently there are 150 wards in the area and KCR wants to increase them to 200. In the process, he also wants to divide the Corporation in to 2-3 pieces which will decimate the strength of opposition.

This idea is in the ruling party’s mind for several months but it was delayed intentionally so as to delay the election by taking up the delimitation in the last minute. If at all the process gets entangled in any legal issue, the elections may be postponed even for years!
