kcr telangana mlc electionsSeven Candidates – Five from TRS, One from TDP and One from Congress are in the fray for the Six MLC positions that are to be filled in MLC Quota. Even though, the ruling party had only strength to win four candidates, it put up five making a contest necessary.

Congress and TDP-BJP combine should have easily won each seat but both the sides have lost four MLAs to the ruling party’s Operation Akarsha. It is evident that these MLAs will ignore their party whip and vote for TRS candidates.

Even then TRS will fall short of numbers for the last candidate. It is said that the ruling party is in talks with the members of TDP and Congress to cross vote for them in the last minute. We have already seen few TDP MLAs talking in favour of TRS in some occasions. TRS is also targeting the vote of Congress senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy who is not happy with Uttam Kumar Reddy’s elevation as PCC President. If TRS manages to win all the five seats, it will be a big blow for opposition parties.
