KCR Delhi residence photoUnion government had decided to allocate a bungalow each in Delhi for both the Chief Ministers of the Telugu states. The Urban Development ministry had already allotted a Type VIII bungalow to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao while still exploring a suitable place for N Chandrababu Naidu.

There is no rule which specifies to allot a government property in Delhi to a state Chief Minister. Taking a cue from the idea given by its predecessor UPA, the NDA government is allotting such bungalows from a pool reserved for state government officials working in Delhi.

KCR was allocated the 23, Tughlaq Road bungalow where he has been staying since he was appointed as a cabinet minister for labour and employment in 2004 during UPA-I. Despite several notices, KCR refused to vacate the bungalow. Up on the request from the state government, the Telangana Chief Minister was gain allotted the same house to him from state quota.
