tngo president devi prasad and kcrTNGOs President Devi Prasad is one of the most active Telangana Activists during the separate state agitation. He led the NGOs on a common line during the Sakala Janula Samme which put lot of pressure on the then governments to think on the lines of giving the idea a thought. Devi Prasad was supposed to cost the last election but TRS could not accommodate him a seat. He was offered a couple of tough seats which he refused.

Later every one thought Devi Prasad will be sent to the council through nominated quota but that did not happen. Devi Prasad was reluctant to contest Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy seat, but KCR forced him to contest guaranteeing a win but he lost the seat to BJP+TDP candidate by a whopping 16000+ Votes majority.

Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy are strongholds of TDP and BJP due to heavy settler population. They have even won majority seats here in Assembly elections and so it is a real tough seat. KCR made life comfortable for shortcut ministers like Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Tummala Nageswara Rao and Kadiyam Srihari by not fielding them in the election but Devi Prasad who played a significant role in Telangana Agitation was made a scapegoat.
