KCR back-steps on Osmania Land issueIf the feelers are to be believed, Telangana government may have back-stepped on the issue of using Osmania University lands for the housing for poor scheme of the state. There is an intense friction between the state government and students regarding this issue. Until yesterday, KCR was firm on his decision and even called the protests by students as ‘Protests by immature brats’.

However as the opposition parties are drawing political mileage out of this issue, Telangana government is reconsidering the idea. Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy this morning said OU lands are not any one’s pocket assets and no one can take that from the university.

At the same time, Nayani even felt that it is not right to burn KCR’s effigies on this issue. “We will all together protect the university lands. Few political parties are misleading the students”, Nayani added which may refer the change of Telangana government’s stand.
