Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Vari (Sri Kanaka Durga) temple had rolled out a mobile app of the temple ahead of the Navratri celebrations beginning later this month. The app will help the pilgrims to track the celebrations at Indrakeeladri. The Temple authorities also have started a a toll-free number (18001217749) for providing information to the pilgrims.
Currently only the android version of the app is available and can be downloaded for free from Google playstore. The nine-day-long festivities were slated to begin on October 13 amd would conclude on Vijayadasami day on October 22. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu would present silk clothes to the deity on Moola nakshtram day on October 19.
Pilgirms across the country will be visiting Vijayawada during this festival. Elaborate arrangements were made so as to avoid any inconvenience to the visiting pilgrims. Railways is arranging special trains to Vijayawada to accommodate the heavy rush. Security and traffic management during this festival will be like a trial run to the next year Krishna Pushkaralu.
