Jayalalithaa earlier created a record by becoming first Chief Minister to get convicted and jailed during her office and now she also created a new record of being the fastest to get bail in the politicians arrested in corruption cases. Former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav was convicted for 4 years in Fodder scam and it took almost one year for him to get bail. Former Harayana CM Om Prakash Chautala has got 10 years sentence in a case and had to spend 2 months in jail before getting bail.
The current leader of opposition in Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy spent 16 months in jail before getting the bail. His brotherly figure Gaali Janardhan Reddy of Karnataka is still in jail from 2012. Jayalalithaa who was sentenced for 4 years jail was just out in 22 days becoming the earliest to get the jail. Interestingly, eight private individuals provided surety and bonds of Rs. One crore each for the release of the former Tamil Nadu CM. They will be now held responsible as per law if the convict fails to appear before the Court whenever necessary
