The Nagole-Shilpa Ramam stretch of Metro Rail Project has cleared one of its major hurdle. The metro rail route was running through 1,601.85 sq yards land belonging to Iskcon temple near St. John’s Rotary in Secunderabad. After a protracted battle, Hyderabad Metro officials slightly altered the design to lessen the damage. As a result now the temple land to be acquired is brought down to 612.77 sq yards.

Up on the guarantee of not disturbing the temple land, Iskcon management agreed to give their assent to Hyderabad Metro to acquire 612.77 sq yards. The notices regarding this land acquisition were already sent to Iskcon and they did not raise any objection in the required time frame of 15 days which means the owner has given their consent. HMR officials will meet Iskcon officials in a day or two to finalize land acquisition.
