klMiD Day, an English Newspaper based out in Mumbai published India’s first ever gay ad i.e., man-seeking-man matrimonial ad. The advertisement is given Mumbai-based equal rights activist Harish Iyer’s mother seeking a husband for her.

Mid Day accepted the advertisement after it was rejected by three other Publications. The Times of India, The Hindustan Times and the website dna are the ones that rejected the ad. Iyer extended his heart felt thanks to MiD DAY and its editor, Sachin Kalbag and shared an image of the ad originally posted by Gaysi Family, an India-based gay rights group.

The ad, which reads, “Seeking 25-40, Well-placed, Animal-Loving, Vegetarian GROOM for my SON (36, 5’11”) who works with an NGO, Caste No Bar (Though IYER Preferred),” is going viral on internet evoking mixed responses from the people.
