Indian-Americans and NRIs have always made their presence felt in US in all the fields. And now, an Indian-American, Priya Gopal-Walker will be representing Washington in the 2015 Miss Teen USA Pageant to be held in Bahamas.
She will be competing with the contestant of all the other states in the country at the contest which will happen on August 21-22. Interestingly, Priya was a survivor of child abuse, she got an entry in to this pageant after winning the Miss Washington Teen USA crown.
Priya is half Indian and half American heritage, is a student at the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Seattle. She was supposed to take part in the pageant in 2012 but backed off in the last minute due to physical abuse. She now lives with foster parents.
