Chandra Babu Naidu has emerged as ‘Hero’ by bringing the Hero Motocorp Plant in Andhra Pradesh in the first 100 days of his rule. The plant which will cater the needs of entire South India will bring in 3000 direct employment and even more indirect employment. Buoyed by the success, Chandra Babu wants to now bring Hyundai and Toyota plants to Andhra Pradesh. Hyundai company current has two plants in India and both of them are in Chennai. Chandra Babu is already in action to bring the third to AP.
Toyota operates in India from a single plant and Chandra Babu wants to bring in the second plant. Chandra Babu has hand picked few senior officials to hold talks with these companies and see if they can be brought to the state. Andhra Pradesh is viewed as a potential hub for automobile industry due to the presence of large skill and cheap man force. The TDP government’s industrial policy is feasible for the automobile industries and presence of huge coastline is a bonus which will ease the transportation of produced vehicles.
