Poodata-Neelima-missing-mountaineer28 year old Neelima, a Software Engineer employed with Cognizant had trained for three months prior to joining a 21-member trekking group, most of them foreigners, for the 15-day adventurous Everest Base Camp organised by a Bangalore-based firm. Her family members completely lost contact with her of the Camp organizer since the 7.9-magnitude quake hit the Himalayan country on Saturday.

Neelima’s parents say that they have received a phone call from the tour guide at the camp on Saturday 4PM that all the participants are safe and are stationed at Dingboche. Since then, there has been no communication from Bangalore office or Nepal Camp.

Neelima’s parents last spoke to her on April 21st when she told them that she was at 4,600 meters above sea level and the trekking team was on the way to reach 5,600 metres, where there will be another base camp. She also cautioned them she may not be able to call as they will not have mobile phone signals. The family is totally worried about her safety and is praying that she will be safe.
