Poodata-Neelima-safeHyderabad Technie Poodata Neelima who went to Nepal for trekking seem to be safe there. It is said that her parents received such message from Nepal. Neelima’s base camp is not affected by the Earth Quake as the magnitude is very less there. With this news her family members and colleagues at Cognizant were very much relieved.

28 year old Neelima had trained for three months prior to joining a 21-member trekking group, most of them foreigners, for the 15-day adventurous Everest Base Camp organised by a Bangalore-based firm. Her family members completely lost contact with her of the Camp organizer since the 7.9-magnitude quake hit the Himalayan country on last Saturday.

Neelima’s parents last spoke to her on April 21st when she told them that she was at 4,600 meters above sea level and the trekking team was on the way to reach 5,600 metres, where there will be another base camp. She also cautioned them she may not be able to call as they will not have mobile phone signals.
