This could be a record of sort which can be only created by Dabangg Salman Khan. The actor was sentenced to 5 years of rigorous jail term by Mumbai Sessions court at 1PM today. Normally the judgement papers will take several hours for preparation but they were obtained in record time. And the actor’s lawyer filed a bail petition in couple of hours.
Even sensational is that the bail petition was taken for hearing by the high court at lightening speed. The hearing now will take place at 4PM and Salman Khan can go home for dinner if the high court grants him in bail. Some times the cases of commoners takes years to come for hearing and decades for completion, but there are always perks for being a celebrity.
The trial of the case began April last year after Salman was booked under Section 304 Part II (culpable homicide not amounting to murder). While he can get a maximum of 10 years imprisonment, the court kept it to 5 years taking in to consideration the humanitarian work Salman Khan does through his Being Human foundation.
