After a mind-blowing opening day of about 40 Cr, one would have imagined a cakewalk for the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy New Year to cross the 100 Cr mark for the weekend. But that wasn’t the case.
The film stumbled on its second day and started panic among the fans of the star and finally on Sunday it managed to hold onto its Saturday figures to cross the 100 Cr mark and also cross the previous best by just few lakhs. The trade after the blockbuster opening expected the film to create new opening weekend record by a huge margin which wasn’t the case.
Today will be a crucial day along with the upcoming second weekend to decide if Happy New Year will cross the 200 Cr mark or not. 200 Cr mark is the new benchmark for the big budget top star movie in Bollywood for the uninitiated.
