GAV-3rd-disaster-or-saviour

Govindudu Andari Vadele is a new film of Ram Charan which releases tomorrow. The star had a big success earlier in the year in the form of Yevadu and the trade is expecting his new film to have a similar result which is shown by them through the prices they have brought the film for. But its release is causing troubles for the makers now and thereby has put the distributors in jeopardy.

GAV is releasing on Wednesday which is midweek whereas traditionally the movie week starts with Friday. As a result of this release strategy, which might prove to be beneficial in the long run, the makers are not able to give a massive release for the film justifying its rates. In other state like Chennai, the movie is struggling to get a release due to lack of availability of screens as it’s a Wednesday release. While the producer is assuring a release it is definitely not going to be a record breaking one or big. With this kind of release the trade has already ruled out massive day 1 numbers for the film.

The distributors are already in collective shock due to the massive failures of recent biggies Rabhasa and Aagadu. But when one looks back at least they had a great day 1 and opening weekend due to huge release. With GAV that is not possible due to lack of availability of theatres. Now for the sake of distributors and fans, everything is dependent on talk of the film on its release day. A third disaster in a row is something that business circles and film industry can’t afford now. Will GAV bail them out? What do you think? Share us your thoughts.
