tollywood film makers success mantraNew-age film makers who are making films with small and medium budgets seem to have unveiled a new success mantra of screening movies for select audiences before deciding on the final copy of the film to be released. This idea seems to be a novel idea. But as a new entrant into the film industry, Shekhar Kammula tried this formula for his initial films.

The fate of film is commonly decided on release Friday and all the work done for months would go under severe scanning and any loop holes or shortcomings would be teared apart severely by critics and the audiences verdict decides the rest. Nothing can be done at that stage to redeem the film.

Hence the small films’ makers have come up with a success mantra. According to this new formula, they would show their film to a select audience (normally between age group 18-24) and based on their opinion, the makers would take precautionary measures like cutting short the length, reshooting some parts or else deleting unnecessary parts.

If we look into this mantra, this seems not really any new concept. Even big film makers show their movies before release to their well wishers and distributors. That would mostly dole out diplomatic opinions rather than genuine ones and hence youngsters, especially students are taken as select audiences who give unbiased opinion on films.

Many small film makers like Syed Rafi, Bekkam Venugopal, Madhura Sreedhar and Ram Mohan have tried this method successfully and many others are on the way to follow this success mantra to avoid disasters and increase the success rate of films.
