pi data center amaravathi andhra pradeshTwo Big US based IT Companies including a multinational company is all set to foray in to the upcoming Capital region of Andhra Pradesh. US-based Pi Data Center (PDC) and Pune-headquartered Sahyadri Industries Limited (SIL) are the two biggies.

PDC is going to setup a 5,000-rack Tier-IV Data Center in the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC)’s layout at Mangalagiri. It will be investing over 600 crore in the next five years. The government had allocated 10 acres of land for the company on lease for 33 years at a lease premium / price of Rs. 1 crore per acre.

PDC’s entry to Amaravathi will set the tone for the state’s industrial growth post-bifurcation. There is no such major player in IT, ITES sector operating either in Vijayawada or Guntur. In fact, the proposed Tier-IV Data Center is said to be the first-of-its-kind facility planned by an MNC in south India.
