The main opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress had announced it will boycott the MLC elections in Prakasam districts. YSRCP had lost most of its MPTCs here to the ruling party and the defeat is almost certain.
The party had tried to postpone the elections by complaining about electoral malpractices to Election Commission and Governor. But EC felt there is no need to postpone the elections and so brushed YSRCP’s complaint.
In order to avoid the embarrassment, YSR Congress had announced that they are boycotting the election protesting the ruling party’s acts in the elections. They are likely to abstain from polling tomorrow. On the other side, YSRCP will remain in fray for Kurnool MLC election and it will be a tough fight there.
