The menace of Fake identities are becoming rampant in social networking sites these days. On Tuesday, Cyberabad Police have arrested S Rajesh who created a fake profile of his female friend. Rajesh has posted her phone number and invited people to call her for ‘special services’. The nightmares then started to began for the complainant. After a lot of mental struggle the victim filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police under the relevant sections of the IT Act .
Rajesh was traced and arrested from his house. He reportedly agreed committing the crime as his friend, the victim had been avoiding her for the past few months and he resorted to the Fake Profile route for revenge. The culprit was produced in court and was sent to judicial remand. Over the last couple of years, there is a steep increase in the number of cyber crime cases in the country as the technology and internet improves. A recent study by TCS on Cyber Crime has revealed that there is an increase of 1033% in those cases across the nation, of which women are becoming the most easy targets.
