One of the top celebrated directed in Bollywood cinema Anurag Kashyap has once again achieved an impossible feat. The director says that he has made a 300 Cr worth movie for a sum of just 90 Cr.
Anurag Kashyap is currently making a film called Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. This is a period film set in the sixties in Bombay and it requires big sets being built. Films of this scale usually cost mammoth budgets for the makers but the director being the perfectionist he is with his vision has made the film within stipulated budget. This is the Titanic of Bollywood, he says, but only at a fraction of its cost. One could trust the director’s words as in the past too he has made epic two movies revenge saga spanning decades under 50 Cr itself.
The director was actually responding to a number of articles where it was being reported that the cost of the film has escalated due to multiple re-shoots of the film.
