Dasari-to-be-arrestedCBI today summoned Former Minister of State for Coal, Dasari Narayana Rao for his involvement in Coal scam case. Along with Dasari, industrialist Naveen Jindal, ex-Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda and 12 others also received the summons. CBI already questioned Dasari and filed all his statements regarding this scam.

Since the summons are served once again. Legal experts say there is also chance of making arrests in the case. Or else Dasari may be questioned again. Dasari mantained that he had nothing to do with the scam as he just followed the instructions of the then Prime Minister who is the incharge of the Coal Ministry.

The case is related to the alleged irregularities in allocation of Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block in Jharkhand’s Birbhum district in 2008 to Jindal Group firms, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and Gagan Sponge Iron Pvt Ltd (GSIPL). CBI in its charge-sheet mentioned 15 including five firms as accused, in the case for alleged offences under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) read with 420 (cheating) of IPC and under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
