bail graned to dasari narayana raoFormer Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao managed to obtain anticipatory bail in the Coal scam case. All the other accused in the case also managed to get the bail. They were asked to submit a personal guarantee bond worth One Lakh each and were also asked to not to leave the country with out permission.

The court also warned the accused against the attempts to tamper the evidences. Dasari personally attended Patiala court in Delhi this morning. The next hearing of the case was posted to June 1st. The case is related to the alleged irregularities in allocation of Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block in Jharkhand’s Birbhum district in 2008 to Jindal Group firms, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and Gagan Sponge Iron Pvt Ltd (GSIPL).

Dasari was the Minister of the State for Coal then. For the undue favours of Dasari, the companies made several investments in return to Dasari’s companies. However Dasari maintained that he had nothing to do with the scam as he just followed the instructions of the then Prime Minister who is the incharge of the Coal Ministry.
