Cyclone Hudhud is threatening to engulf the North Andhra Pradesh. Winds with a velocity of 195 Kms/Hr is hitting the coast and the cyclone is expected to have landfall this Afternoon. Massive destruction and loss of life is expected and the state government is gearing up to take the remedial measures. The national highway between Srikakulam and Rajahmundry is closed and many trains from and to Vishakapatnam stand cancelled.

State government has already pushed in relief material and staff to contain the damage and stand by the people. Several 100s of villages are evacuated and sent to the relief camps. A cyclone monitoring department is setup in Chandrababu’s residence in Hyderabad and the Chief Minister is continuously monitoring the situation on ground and relief work. Officials will be releasing a bulletin every hour from Chandrababu’s residence itself.
