An Organization ‘The Association of Democaratic Reforms’ had released a report on the cases registered on Peoples representatives in the last two years. As a part of the report, the organization had revealed that there are criminal cases on Chief Ministers of Telugu States, Chandra Babu Naidu and K Chandra Sekhar Rao as well. There are criminal cases on 12 Union Ministers and 44 Union Ministers of the State. Out of the 12 Union Ministers, seven have very strong criminal cases.

The report also says that 90% of Telangana Ministers have criminal cases pending on them making Telangana leader in ministers with tainted history. Following next are Andhra Pradesh with 56%, Karnataka with 34% and Odisha with 27%. North Eastern states like Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Tripura and Sikkim do not have a minister with a single criminal case. The high amount of criminal cases on ministers in Telugu States may be due to the state division and United state agitations that took place in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the last 3-4 years.
