chiranjeevi and botsa satyanarayanaThe woes of Congress party are increasing day by day in Andhra Pradesh. After being reduced to Zero seats and deserted by leaders and cadre, the party is struggling to hold on to the remaining leaders. There were news in media for a long time that the former PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana and Former Union Minister Chiranjeevi are planning to join BJP.

Both the leaders are absent from the two PCC meetings that happened in the last one month or so. Latest being on Friday. While the party stated that they were absent for personal reasons, political circles are abuzz that they are ditching the party very soon.

While the news may be right or wrong, the immediate effect will be on the party’s poll prospects in Tirupati bielection. The party had fielded a candidate in the bielection keeping aside the tradition that parties do not contest bielection if it is necessitated by the death of a sitting MLA and his kin is contesting. The party is eager to win the election and send its sole representation to the Assembly.
