ap power issueAndhra Pradesh government has planned to create 2500 MW a grid connected solar photo-voltaic projects and has called tenders. There are 50 prospective solar developers who have placed bids for 1,296 MW. These projects will be set up in Ananthapur district (580 MW), Chittoor (273 MW), Kurnool (272 MW), coastal Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam.

The Center has agreed to provide a grant (free of cost or non-repayable) of Rs 20 lakh per MW, a total of Rs 500 crore for the development 2,500 MW solar park in Andhra Pradesh.
