Srisailam KCR telanganaCentral government which is confined to waiting game over the Srisailam Left Canal issue plaguing the two Telugu States finally decided to intervene. It is known that Telangana is keen on producing power from Srisailam Left Canal while Andhra Pradesh is insisting on saving water for the drinking water use during Summer.

Krishna River Management Board had issued orders in favour of AP government’s argument but Telangana is defying it. Union Home Secretary has called for a meeting of both the states Chief Secretaries on 28th of this month and asked them to air both their arguments before him.

Krishna River Management Board allowed Telangana government to use 3 TMCs of water till November 2nd. But Telangana government has used 8.8 TMCs of water from October 31st to November 17th. The meeting assumes significance in the wake of Telangana’s allegations that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu influenced the board with his connections with the Central government.
