The working professionals of the Hyderabad city are fast in embracing the carpooling. There were 230 of such services in Hyderabad in 2011 and the number had gone up to 540 in July 2014. With the increasing menace of traffic and pollution, the city working class seem to have developed the consciousness and necessity of carpooling. Along with the several private services, individuals are also giving calls for the carpooling through social networking sites.

Interesting trend is that along with carpooling, ride-sharing is also on high in Hyderabad. Many traveling back home to different cities during weekends and holidays are opting to ride-sharing to avoid the high cost bust tickets and jam packed trains. However Hyderabad women are yet to get used to this new culture as many suspect the security during carpool. As of today, Telangana does not have legal acts governing the carpooling services.
