vijayawada-ap-capital

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu was supposed to make an announcement in the Assembly today regarding the next capital of the state. But the announcement is now postponed. They say today is not an auspicious day as it is Ashtami. Also the opposition leader of the state, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was absent in the Assembly due to his father YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s Vardhanti.

So, the government had decided to postpone the announcement till Thursday which is Dasami and is auspicious. On the other side, YSR Congress today submitted an interim motion for the discussion on Siva Rama Krishnan Committee but Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao rejected it. It is known that the State government and the Siva Rama Krishnan Committee are at loggerheads over the state capital. While the state government is favouring capital between Vijayawada and Guntur, Siva Rama Krishnan Committee has rejected the proposal outright terming the difficulties in land acquisition and non availability of proper government lands.

According to the information from confidential sources, the state capital has decided that the state capital will be near Vijayawada which will be accessible from every nook and corner of the state. It is also said that government has appointed a committee with Ministers Narayana, Yanamala and the MLAs of Krishna and Guntur for land acquisition and other requirements of the state capital.
