Industry Hits are the biggest hits in industry at that point of time and these are something that doesn’t happen regularly. We get hits, super hits and blockbuster every year but Industry Hits, only once in a while. So what makes every film maker proclaim their film to be next Industry Hit? The natural observation would be that everyone wants to be the number one, but can anyone plan Industry Hits?

If we observe the last few Industry Hits, Indra, Pokiri, Magadheera and Atharintiki Daredi we would know that not all of them were planned to be Industry Hits to begin with neither were they promoted as such, especially Pokiri and Atharintiki Daredi. They came without such expectations and delivered big time making audience go crazy over them. Even then many times, everything else that is not in the movie’s control has to come together for a film to reach that status.

Recently we are seeing a trend where every other big movie is hyped as Industry Hit. We saw that with Aagadu and now we are again seeing with Govindudu Andarivadele. The makers of the former film went hammer and tongs with their ‘Industry Hit’ promotions and when the film failed to reach the expectations it crashed as quickly. Now the makers of GAV to are following the same pattern. Will this again bring negative effect to the film? Do you think GAV purely based on its promos and expected content can become a Industry Hit?
