Team India had disappointed millions by losing the Semifinal match against Australia in the World Cup. The country came to a still with many stayed indoors to watch the match bunking work for a whole day. Even NRIs swarmed in to SCG in huge numbers to cheer the team. But every thing went in vain after Dhoni’s men failed to chase the set target of 329 set by Australia.
India started off well with Dhawan and Rohit Sharma puting up a partnership of 72 Runs for the first wicket. Once Dhawan is gone, India lost quick wickets and also the momentum. Despite some good contributions from Dhoni and Rahane, 329 is too far and everything ended as India was all out for just 233.
However, India’s World Cup campaign can be termed as decent, especially not many expected them to reach Semifinals after that Test Series and Triseries debacle in Australia. Newzealand and Australia will fight for the cup on 29th.
