director Teja bajrangi bhaijaanThough we are talking about 100 crore movies and the king of box-office collections raking in more than a couple of 100 crores, how many audiences are actually watching these blockbusters in theaters? According to the latest reports, only 2% of the Indian population actually watched ‘Bhajrangi Bhaijaan’ in theaters.

Bhajrangi Bhaijaan collected more than Rs.300 crores in the Indian market, but it could have been a lot more better if the number of audiences who go to theaters increased. Telugu director Teja once opined that his ‘Jayam’ was watched more than ‘Baahubali’ because more number of people used to go to theaters those days.

Compared to Bhajrangi Bhaijaan, Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ was watched by more number of people because of its technical brilliance which attracted audiences to theaters. Audiences are interested to watch movies only when a particular subject is very novel and anything routine they are opting to wait for either television premieres or else pirated versions. That proves Teja’s point on decreased number of footfalls to theaters.
