Buzz in the political circles is that BJP is trying to level best to field a strong candidate. They reportedly planning to rope former BJP President, Bangaru Lakshman’s daughter for Warangal bielection.
Lakshman hails from Telangana and is representing Madiga community which is a dominant force in the newest state. However she is not keen to contest on BJP ticket as she feels BJP do not have it to win the Parliamentary position. Instead she wants to contest on TDP ticket.
BJP contested this seat in the last elections as a part of alliance with TDP and is it will have the first right to contest the bielection. But it is clear that BJP can not win this election due to its poor support base there. We will have to see if they leave out the seat to TDP!
