Baby copy of three filmsAdmist raining masala entertainers; Ashay Kumar, Rana Daggubati and Tapsee Pannu starrer ‘Baby’ came as a fresh dose of action thriller belonging to espionage (secret agent genre) theme. The film is receiving huge applause from Bollywood critics for sheer brilliance of the film maker in choosing a bold theme of secret agents who work as coverts, the unknown faces who unveil altogether a untold drama of eradicating terrorists and terrorism.

‘Baby’ might seem a bold endeavour for Bollywood audience, but at the same time it is one inpsired film which has traces of espionage genre films ‘Argo’ (2012), ‘Inglourious Basterds’ (2009) and ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ (2012). The inspiration is clear but not as serious as the others.

The much needed entertainment for Bollywood audiences was intelligently embedded with punch dialogues, action and thrills (Akshay Kumar aka Akki’s style), and comedy. Taking one element from each of the above said Hollywood films, the director has evolved a clever Islamic setting without actually mentioning Pakistan. Well done Neeraj!
