One more Indian origin man shamed us in another country. A 34 year old man, Nantha Kumar Palakrishnan in Singapore was arrested for taking upskirt videos of nearly 60 women in public places. He was charged with insulting the modesty of the women he had filmed.
The accused would put his iphone 4 in recording mode and place it on a pile of books in his laptop bag and put the unzipped bag on the floor behind women at popular shopping areas and subway stations. He was finally caught by a male colleague of a woman when he is adjusting the bag in a shopping mall.
Police were called and up on checking, they found several videos of women including the victim in the mobile. He was arrested and later when Police raided his apartment they seized a laptop that was also found full of such videos. Nantha could have been jailed up to one year, fined, or both for the eight charges that were pursued on him. The accused took to taking such videos after watching such clips on the Internet in June 2013.
