In the wake of continuous terror alerts and incidents of terror activities in Hyderabad, Cyberabad Police have decided to arm the IT corridor of the city. The Police department had decided to give arm licenses to the security personnel of the IT companies.
Only Wipro in its Gachibowli campus had armed security guarding the company. There are over 500 IT companies in Hitech City and Gachibowli. Along with the arm licenses, Cyberabad Police are also planning to give training to the security personnel on how to handle arms.
The drive will begin with the major IT companies. The Police department had also directed the company to keep a tab on the internet and social media usage of its employees to nail terrorist sympathizers.
