Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to name the state’s next capital after Legendary actor and Politician, NT Rama Rao. It is said that the government wants to name the capital ‘Taraka Rama Nagar’. AP Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao lends support to the demand, “NTR is a demigod to Telugu people. If the capital is named after NTR, Farmers are ready to donate 8000 acres to the capital development. We also support this demand to recognize NTR’s efforts to Telugu race”.
However there are few apprehensions to this demand from NTR’s fans as well. “We are happy that NTR is duly respected in the new capital. But government should find a way that if another party comes to power, it should not change the name with political reasons”, opined an NTR fan, Mahinder Reddy. On the other side, a source in the government adds that such situation will not arise since TDP government did not change the name of YSR Kadapa district even though YSR represents the rival party.
