Harish-Rao

Andhra Pradesh government has decided to clear the deadlock over the Power production in Srisailam Left Canal. Telangana state is producing power there which will reduce the water level and will bring drinking water scarcity for Rayalaseema and some parts of Telangana in the coming Summer. Ap government has stopped the power production in the Right canal and asked Telangana to do the same. But Telangana irrigation Minister Harish Rao clarified that they will not stop the power production and said 300 MW power from the project is necessary for the Power crisis ridden Telangana.

Andhra Pradesh government can approach the Krishna River and get the Power production stopped but so as to avoid the controversies and delay in stopping the power production, Chandrababu Naidu has decided to allot the 300MW to Telangana from their own plants so that Telangana will stop the power production in Srisailam Left Canal. AP government will officially communicate this to Telangana in couple of days. If they still do not agree, the issue will be taken to the notice of Krishna River board.
