Andhra Pradesh students just managed to edge Telangana by a few seats in admissions in to IITs this year. 776 AP students managed to get the admission while Telangana students bagged 770 seats.
Both the Telugu States put together secured 1546 seats second only after Rajasthan which secured 1965 seats.Interestingly, 793 who secured IIT admissions studied from the AP Board of Intermediate Education while only 300 students from Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education.
More Telangana students managed IIT admission studying CBSE. CBSE in total contributed 5930 IIT admissions this year. There are total 9974 seats in 18 IITs across the country.
