On the eve of the State government completing 100 days in office, Andhra Pradesh has signed a historic agreement regarding the supply of 24X7 power. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu and Union Power Minister Piyush Goel a short while ago in Hyderabad. This program will come in to effect from October 2nd. MOU was signed between the state and Central government over the power projects of 6500MW. Accordingly, 4500MW thermal project in Vishakapatnam and 2500MW Solar Power Projects in Anantapur and Kurnool will be setup.

Another MOU is signed between the state government and Energy Efficiency Service Ltd (EEFSL) for logistics support of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Measures in Andhra Pradesh. Once the 24X7 Power rolls out, the state government will also start a web portal where in users can see the power supply status of of all the 33/11KV feeders. It is known that the Central government has selected Andhra Pradesh along with Delhi and Rajasthan for the pilot project of 24×7 power to domestic and industrial sectors.
