The Seshachalam forest encounter is becoming embarrassing for Andhra Pradesh government. The state government maintained that it is not a fake encounter and the dead are smugglers. However National Human Rights Commission’s investigation is cornering Chandrababu Naidu’s government.
NHRC instructed the state government to give 5 Lakhs compensation to all the families of those killed in the encounter. They also directed the state and central government to unleash CBI probe in to the encounter.
On the other side, Andhra Pradesh government is not ready to accept both the claims. The government feels that it is not at all right to compensate for the families of smugglers. However defying the orders of human rights commission can land the state government in trouble.
