While Telangana state is reeling under the pressure of heavy power cuts, neighbouring Telugu state, Andhra Pradesh is improving its power production capacity and supply day by day. The Krishnapatnam Thermal Power Plant which was operating at half its full capacity till now, started producing power 100% to its potential. On Thursday night, the power unit produced 808 Megawatts power while the unit’s capacity is 800 MW.

The officials have kept the production at 808MW for some time and later regulated it to 800MW. It is known that Andhra Pradesh is selected for the pilot project of 24 hours power supply by the Central government. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu has targeted 24 hours power to domestic sources and 9 hours quality power to the farmers from October 2nd.
