apsrtc income in sankranthiIn what can be called as a tight slap to Telangana government, the government owned RTC corporation itself is not buying the Diesel from the state. The Diesel in Telagana costs 2 Rupees more than that in Andhra Pradesh as the government increased VAT to that extent to fill it coffers. So, Diesel is costing 2.43 Rupees more in Telangana than in AP.

In order to save the money, the buses which ply between Hyderabad and other places in AP and also the buses in the borders of AP are filling the Diesel in the destinations at Andhra Pradesh.

Usually Diesel to buses are filled in their respective depot. Since the Diesel is costly here, RTC is adopting this technique for at least 1000 buses and is saving at least 50 Lakhs per month in this way. This move will dent Telangana government’s income very much as the Diesel sales pummels in the state. In a way, the government’s strategy to increase the income seemed to have backfired now.
