The United Andhra Pradesh had only one full fledged Cyber crime police station in Hyderabad. And after the state division, AP lost it to Telangana. Now the AP government is planning a cyber crime police station in Visakhapatnam which will act as the nodal police station for the entire State
Very recently, Visakhapatnam found a place in the country’s top five cities in Cyber Crime. The city is registering at least one case every day. In order to rein this menace, the state government had taken this initiative.
The cyber crime police station in Visakhapatnam will also have a hi-tech cyber forensic laboratory and house all equipment to track cyber crimes on the fast track. This station will act as a nodal station for all the other districts in the State and cyber cells will be established in all the remaining districts.
