The first timers of Chandra Babu Naidu’s cabinet are proving to be tough for the Chief Minister to handle. Handful of ministers have been making liberal statements about the various crucial government plans regarding Loan Waiver and State Capital which is causing confusion in the media. Couple of ministers in Babu’s cabinet are even accused of prompting unnecessary real estate hype making diverse statements about the capital.

To avoid such embarrassments in future, Chandra Babu had decided to appoint Media Liaison Officers (MLO) who will be making statements to press on the behalf of the ministers unless there is something very important. These MLOs have previously worked for Telugu Desam Party in Lokesh’s team during the election campaign and Chandra Babu has the confidence on them to handle the press. Each MLO will be paid a monthly salary of Rs 25,000 and a conveyance allowance of Rs 3,000.

A similar step was in practise during TDP founder NT Rama Rao’s regime. TDP then used to run NTR Vijnana Parishad which used to impart training to the party cadre. The latter were appointed as PROs in ministers’ offices. They reported directly to NTR.
