ap assembly crda billAndhra Pradesh Assembly has passed the crucial Capital Regulatory Development Agency (CRDA) bill a short while ago. The bill was tabled this evening in the Assembly and the discussion went on till the late night. Finally the bill was taken for members’ consent at the end and the house passed it through voice vote. Main Opposition party, YSR Congress clarified that it will not support this bill and voted ‘No’.

Earlier Opposition Party, YSR Congress tried it level best to speak against the bill and more they speak, it appeared that they do not like the capital coming near Vijayawada and Guntur. They raised several objections like pooling agricultural lands, pooling One Lakh Acres not required etc but government successfully defended its stance.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) bill will allow CRDA to oversee the development of the new capital region is crucial for the state which is left with no state capital after the bifurcation. The chief minister will be the chairman of the authority and the bill also give legal framework to the new land pooling system for securing required land for the construction of the capital city and other infrastructure.
