For the first time in two years, Andhra Pradesh has observed a no power-cut day on Tuesday. There was ‘Zero mega-watt power shortage’ in the state on Tuesday and the officials have lifted all the existing power cuts across the 13 districts of the state. Power is the only sector from which Andhra Pradesh got benefited from the state division. Earlier, there used to be massive power cuts in villages and towns to supply uninterrupted power to domestic and commercial usage of the capital, Hyderabad.

With Andhra Pradesh now losing Hyderabad to Telangana, Power cuts are lifted in the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. Experts say if the ongoing PPAs crisis is solved by the Central government in favour of Andhra Pradesh, then the state will become no power-cuts state and a surplus power state in the next 2 years. On the other side, Telangana continues to be reeling under the pressure of Power shortage. 4-6 Hours of power cuts are in effect even for Hyderabad
