Tamil star Suriya is showing his star power with the Tamil version of his latest release Anjaan. This Lingusamy directed film came with huge hype but got poor word of mouth from both critics and the audience and yet the star has been able to give it a record opening in Chennai city and suburbs. It showcases the kind of following Suriya enjoys in Tamil Nadu.
Unfortunately the same can’t be said about the Telugu dubbed version Sikindar which after a good opening day courtesy holiday, fell flat on its face. The film is sure to incur loses to everyone involved and the exact amount is only getting increased with each passing day due to big day to day drops. This kind of fractured box office performance isn’t a first though as in the past too some of Suriya’s successes in Tamil have been outright failure in Telugu like Ghatikudu for example which too had simultaneous release on the same day.
