What is the film about?
To put it simply, the film is about love and how it transcends time and finally conquers the evil and wins.
How is Dhanush’s performance?
Dhanush is fabulous as usual. His biggest strength is his acting and Anekudu is another film that makes full use of it. The actor makes even the small moments count and when the big dramatic moments arises he rises up to the occasion. The climax mimicking or the one where he asks for marriage with heroine or the innocence that he brings initially, throw him any challenge and he emerges victorious. The film is worth watch once just for his performance alone.
Direction By K.V.Anand?
Director KV Anand after is making some grand looking big films with big canvas and scope for entertainment and with an equally riveting story. He missed the bus last time but this time he has mostly hit the target with his subject. The problem with the film is its length which gives a never ending feeling and if one adds the confusing plot to it, there are bound to be people who are going to be divided over the final output.
KV Anand has handled many individual scenes brilliantly showing his expertise. The opening Burma sequence or the Kali portion is just fabulous. It’s just that a smooth narrative is missing that doge down the overall experience. Instead of first half and second half, the film has portions that are engaging and portions that simply leaves one splitting their hair. Overall, after a disastrous Brothers, the director is back again though not at his best.
Amyra Dastur and others performance?
Much like the lead actor heroine Amyra Dastur also has multiple roles to portray. It is a dream role for any heroine without any doubt and Amyra has managed to convince in few of those roles. She has a change in terms of dressing but her performance across the characters remains the same. She has a likable screen presence though which helps the audience connect with it. Senior actor Karthik once again gets a meaty role and he makes use of it as usual. However for him it’s like he’s been-there-done-that kind of role. In his last Telugu outing Om -3D he had done similar act for example. Apart from these main characters there are many other small parts but they all don’t have the same impact as these.
Music and other departments?
Music by Harris Jayaraj is decent with couple of numbers standing out. Background score given by him is apt for the film. Editing for a film like this is very important and one must say they have done a good job otherwise everything would have looked like jumbled mess. Cinematography is very good. Dialogues have huge Tamil flavor in them and they are okay.

Alternative take:
An alternative take would be to simply cut out some portions from the film and a song or two that hinder the free flowing narrative of the film. Ironically the other film we saw today ran out of steam and here we have a film that just feels like never ending.

Yes, for major part.
Will you recommend it?
Yes, but be warned of its length and complicated narration.
